Hello Friends
I’m Tracey O'Dell-Caruso, a children’s book author and award-winning educator who has always believed in the magic of stories. My journey as a storyteller began when I was a little girl, writing The Little Red Shoe, which won the West Virginia Young Writers Award. That sweet story of perseverance and friendship has stayed with me through the years, and I’m overjoyed to reimagine it now as The Little Lost Shoe to share with a new generation of readers.
As the proud mom of my amazing daughter, Isabella Love, I’ve spent countless hours reading, dreaming, and creating alongside her. Those moments have inspired me to write stories that nurture hope, creativity, and connection for families everywhere.
When I’m not busy dreaming up new adventures, you’ll find me traveling, cherishing time with loved ones, or simply soaking up life’s little joys. Thank you for letting me share my heart and stories with your family—it means the world to me!

My Story
My journey as a storyteller began when I was just seven years old, penning The Little Red Shoe, a whimsical tale that won the West Virginia Young Writers Award. That early recognition sparked a lifelong love for writing and sharing stories. I followed that passion to college, earning a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and later a master’s in Teaching, where I combined my love of language with my dedication to inspiring young minds. In 2014, I was honored to receive a teaching award, a moment that reaffirmed my commitment to creativity and connection in everything I do.

Now, as my incredible daughter Isabella Love embarks on her college journey, I’m rediscovering my own dreams and beginning an exciting second career as a children’s book author. Writing stories for little ones feels like coming full circle, weaving together my love of education, imagination, and the magic of childhood.
